The Bucket/F*uck it List by Sara Kinninmont

Normally, we reviewers tend to start with how we receive free copies of books and it doesn’t affect our opinions or some such nonsense. In this case, I would like to let people know I am completely and utterly biased as I have worked with the author for years and she is one of my favourite people. Moving swiftly on…

This is not a novel. This is not a critical work of non-fiction (actually, maybe it is). This is just plain fun. What it is is an alternative bucket list. People’s bucket list seems to be “I want to skydive naked” or “I want to Bungie jump with the cord attached to my testicles” (maybe not that one). Instead, this is 3669 ideas for you to try instead of the assumed norm. Many of the ideas are really cool, most are hilarious, and many you’ve probably done already. There are handy checkboxes to the left of each suggestion (Bucket/F*ck it/Done it) so you can tick the ones you like.

If you really want criticism, there was some repetition, although I thought adding “Experience Deja Vu” twice was genius. Also, some people may have preferred having sections like “Travel” and so forth, but I think they would miss the true pleasure of reading this.

Verdict

A well-spent two hours of my life.
